Here is my angel laying the foundations for my new website. www.miaburrus.com.

I’ll drag myself up the learning curve, making weekly site improvements and additions of fresh content, be it visual, textual or explanatory. This week, I establish the opening shot – the place (in gallery) and time (in reading room).

It is rather like living in a museum when one’s home was a once public and once cherished institution. Giving it another 100 years of life was a gift given and gift received. Many neighbours, most former students, helped reconstruct its past as I reconstructed its presence. The dates? Perhaps built in 1920, replacing a wooden structure that burned. Last used as a school in 1965 or so. Almost returned to the elements in 2012. My home since 2014.
