CHIAROSCURO
Turning Pages, photograph by Ken Solilo
pitchblack‒the background‒night or intentional obscurity
the foreground‒white pages of a book open and airy
composed of light‒composed to fathom the inky sea
between light and the words that reveal light
look again‒into the obsidian depths of that glossy surface
book and its faint reflection suggest a mask‒concealment
then pages become feathers‒the whole thing‒regalia
looking back at you‒wordless
